Charlie Woods failed to get out of local qualifying for the U.S. Open, the second straight year the son of Tiger Woods missed out. The 16-year-old Woods was among a record 10,202 entries for the U.S.

The 16-year-old golfer carded a 3-over-par 75 during Thursday's qualifier at Wellington Golf Club in Florida. Per the outlets, Charlie was seven strokes shy of the final qualifying score, an improvement from his performance in last year's US Junior Amateur, which he missed by 18 strokes.

It's going to be at least another year before 16-year-old Charlie Woods, the son of 15-time major winner Tiger Woods, will be playing in the US Open. Tiger Woods, a three-time US Open winner, is expected to miss the rest of this year with a torn left Achilles tendon.
