Three men from Oregon are facing federal charges in connection with two separate incidents involving violence or property damage during or near protest activity in Eugene and South Portland, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. “Portland has not requested and does not require the intervention of the National Guard,” Wilson said in the statement. He noted that National Guard members and U.S. Marines deployed to Los Angeles under the order of helping ICE and protest management have only inflamed tensions in that city.

Several hundred protesters gathered outside the ICE facility Saturday afternoon and evening. Portland police declared it a riot.
