William Byron increased his NASCAR Cup Series regular season points lead after recording a top-5 finish in the Cracker Barrel 400 on June 1 at Nashville Superspeedway. Byron's fifth-place finish is his fourth top-5 finish in the last seven races, and Byron's lead is now nearly a full race over Kyle Larson.

Connor Zilisch will race in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, his first oval race in the NASCAR Cup Series for Trackhouse Racing.

Sunday's main event will be the fifth NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway. Kyle Larson (2021) and Chase Elliott (2022) each have scored a win at the 1.33-mile oval in their careers. For practice, Elliott was the quickest from the team with the third-fastest speed. Byron followed closely behind in fourth.
