The Houston Astros took yet another hit to their starting rotation on Monday, as according to The Athletic's Chandler Rome veteran right-hander Lance McCullers

The Houston Astros placed Lance McCullers Jr. on the 15-day IL with a sprained foot before his scheduled start against the AL West rival Athletics.

Lance McCullers Jr. struck out six and allowed only four hits in five innings but had just enough mistakes and misfortune to take a 4-2 loss.

Another Houston starter bites the dust — as the team’s IL is starting to look like a pitching convention gone wrong.

As it’s currently constructed, the Astros’ starting rotation has two aces in Hunter Brown and Framber Valdez, a pair of rookies trying to find their way in Colton Gordon and Ryan Gusto and veteran Lance McCullers Jr.
