Fans of rock band Journey were silenced during Friday night’s RodeoHouston performance. The band was singing its signature hit when the sound cut out.

Houston rodeo attendees in the stands for Friday night's Journey concert at NRG Stadium were in mid-song when a bizarre sequence of events derailed the show and ultimately led to its cancellation. Video of the incident showed Journey in the midst of belting out the band's biggest hit,

Video from the performance shows singer Arnel Pineda and guitarist Neal Schon singing the lines “A singer in a smoky room / The smell of wine and cheap perfume / For a smile they can share the night” when the sound system crashed and jumbotrons shut down. The audience continued to sing the song as the band departed the stage.
