Tears flowed during a prayer service Thursday evening at St. Raphael Catholic Church, as mourners reflected on the loss of Dylan Veselic, a Bay High School lacrosse player who died after being injured in a game earlier this week.

Bay Village High School sophomore Dylan Veselic, 16, was playing against Olmsted Falls on Tuesday night when a ball struck him at the base of the back of his head when he attempted to block a shot, according to WKYC, citing witnesses.

Dylan Veselic, a 16-year-old sophomore at Bay Village High School, was injured during a lacrosse game on May 6 in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, the Bay Village School District told USA TODAY. He passed away the morning of May 8.
