Protesters swarmed the Spring and Main street overpasses of the 101 Freeway, with police on standby to prevent them from trying to walk onto the highway.

Demonstrators rallied on Minneapolis’ East Lake Street — a vibrant corridor of Mexican, Somali and other immigrant-owned businesses — packing the area on a grey and cold winter afternoon. They carried signs reading “All are welcome here” and “Immigrants Make America Great.

Demonstrators remained protesting on downtown Los Angeles streets hours after the Los Angeles Police Department issued a dispersal order.
