The Matthew Stafford chase is on. According to multiple reports, the Giants met with Stafford's representatives while in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine this week. The Rams have given the quarterback permission to talk to other teams about a trade as he looks for someone offering the new contract that the Rams appear to be hesitant to give him.

According to The Athletic, the Giants met with the 37-year-old quarterback’s agent in Indianapolis Tuesday about a potential trade/new contract. This comes amid rampant speculation that the Rams would trade away the Super Bowl LVI champion. The Raiders — namely part-owner Tom Brady — also met with Stafford, according to reports.

The Rams have given Stafford permission to speak with other teams and assess his value before they determine how they will proceed. He is due to make $26 million this season.
