Giants co-owner John Mara hated losing star running back Saquon Barkley to the Eagles last offseason in free agency. Mara hated seeing his own team go 3-14 this past season, especially as the Eagles finished 14-3.

The running back put together another sensational performance to help the Eagles reach the Super Bowl in his first season with the team.

With the Eagles in the red zone after the Commanders fumbled the kickoff in the first half of Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, it appeared that Washington was poised to hold the Eagles to three points. Barkley was about to be stopped short on third down. In fact, he was already conceding the play and heading out of bounds.

Once the game started, though, Washington was absolutely helpless to what everybody knew was coming. Barkley broke his first carry of the game 60 yards for a touchdown, cashing several of those bets in one single play.

For a second time in three years, the Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl bound. Forced turnovers during Sunday's 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders are a big reason why.  The Eagles parlayed four Commanders takeaways and one turnover on downs into 35 points.

“It was fun to be out there and see the confetti and things you envision, but the most special thing about it was being out there with my family,” Barkley said. “I know I’ve never been there, but I’ve been there so many times in my head.” This, the celebration, the shot at a Super Bowl, was why Barkley signed with the Eagles, he said.
