RIYADH: When Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman was appointed Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister six years ago, he vowed to heed even the smallest of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (Opec+).

Saudi Arabia and Russia had to reach a difficult compromise on OPEC+ policies on Saturday as Riyadh pushed to accelerate oil output increases while Moscow argued for a pause, four OPEC+ sources with knowledge of the talks said.

Saudi Arabia led the OPEC+ group in such a way that the coalition agreed to a third consecutive large monthly increase in oil production despite opposition from the faction led by Russia, Bloomberg reports.
