A Walker Lake man has been charged with attempted murder and other felonies after police say he attempted to break into an RV and then fired a handgun at two people.

A St. Clair County judge detained a Belleville man accused of grabbing a gun from a sheriff’s deputy’s holster and firing it during a confrontation with deputies who went to the man’s home with a DCFS investigator for a wellness check on a child last week.

Ryan Aeron Stanley Hurst, 18, of Arkansas, is accused of firing at Illinois State Police troopers who had pulled him over at a gas station in Lexington on the morning of Feb. 6.

The U.S. Marshals Service on Monday arrested two people in Missouri on murder charges connected to a fatal shooting of a Boone man.
