The first thing the Patriots should do is call the Jets about Garrett Wilson, who made his unhappiness known last season. However, given the ousting of Aaron Rodgers and their status as AFC East rivals, they’ll likely be rebuffed. Still, Mike Vrabel and co. need to do their due diligence and Wilson is the best possible scenario.

The Patriots have plenty of cap space this spring, but they may not have the means to sign Tee Higgins — who could be staying in Cincinnati.

If not Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin is the second-best pending free agent receiving option. He is coming off a season-ending injury, but he was well on his way toward racking up his fourth straight 1,000-yard season with the Buccaneers.
