The two powers have been exchanging barrages since Israel attacked Iran and killed many of the country’s top military leaders and scientists.

Iran and Israel continued to exchange attacks into Monday amid the latest round of conflict between the two nations.

The conflict between Israel and Iran has forced many countries in the Middle East to close their airspace, as Israeli jets and Iranian exploding drones and missiles fly over their night skies.

Blasts rang out across a swath of the Middle Eastern republic’s territory, targeting its nuclear capabilities, military leadership and scientists.

Although Iran maintains that its nuclear program is for peaceful energy purposes, Israel has long seen it as a threat. Israeli strikes have hit three of Iran’s nuclear facilities — Natanz, Isfahan and Fordow. Little damage appears visible in satellite imagery of Fordow.

There is a possibility of both radiological and chemical contamination within Iran’s main nuclear enrichment facility.

Israel has carried out wide-ranging military strikes on Iran, hitting sites including some of its most important nuclear facilities.

Roughly 140 miles south of Tehran, Natanz is considered Iran’s main center for uranium enrichment, and it was a prime target of the Israeli strikes. The damage to it appeared to be severe. It is only partially underground and was recently reinforced.

Israel’s sweeping attack across Iran struck at the heart of Tehran’s nuclear program, delivering a blow to the country’s ability to enrich uranium and potentially setting its nuclear ambitions back by months or years.
