While the likes of Gene Hackman and Teri Garr were honored in the In Memoriam segment of the 2025 Oscars, some were left off the list such as Michelle Trachtenberg.

Fans are not pleased with David Lynch's short Oscars tribute and the omission of Michelle Trachtenberg, Tony Todd, Olivia Hussey and several other actors and filmmakers from the In Memoriam section at Sunday's 97th Academy Awards.

Fans have aired their views on some of big stars being omitted from the Oscars' reel of stars lost in the last year.

Michelle Trachtenberg, who died on Feb. 26, was noticeably absent from the In Memoriam segment at the Oscars 2025, as well as Shannen Doherty and Tony Todd

The Oscars In Memoriam for 2025 included Gene Hackman and David Lynch, but left off others like Michelle Trachtenberg and Tony Todd.

While Gene Hackman and Quincy Jones received stand-alone memorial tributes, number of notables did not appear in the Oscars' "in memoriam" segment.

As with every year, the In Memoriam passed with some notable exclusions. Michelle Trachtenberg, who also died last week, was missing from the tribute. Trachtenberg led her first film, Harriet The Spy,

Eagle-eyed viewers on social media immediately noticed a few big names not mentioned on the broadcast, including Michelle Trachtenberg, Olivia Hussey and Tony Todd. While all three are honored on the Oscar's dedicated "In Memoriam" page online, they were not shown in the montage during the show on ABC. Their fans were, understandably, not happy.

The Academy Awards didn't use a few extra seconds to honor actors who left a huge dent in Hollywood, and fans are not having it.
