Cincinnati Bengals rookie Shemar Stewart skipped the final day of the team’s mandatory minicamp practice as he remains in a contract dispute with the club. This was the first time Stewart wasn’t at practice.
CINCINNATI — NBC Sports Mike Florio laid out this week that Shemar Stewart doesn't have many good options to keep fighting the Bengals on his contract bonus/default language once the season gets closer and closer.
“Bengals want more stringent default language in their rookie contracts than what they had last year, with 17th pick, and are trying to impose on Shemar Stewart, the 18th pick,” Brandt tweeted on X. “Stewart and agent have good reason to fight it and not sign, for now. We will see come training camp.”
