Sam Hauser started in place of Jayson Tatum and did what he and the Boston Celtics have done all season — shoot a bunch of 3-pointers and make more than their share.

Hauser had a career night Monday as the Celtics fended off the Jazz down the stretch. Hauser finished with a career-high 33 points and six rebounds, shooting 11-for-23 from the floor. He also shot 9-for-19 on 3s as he let them fly throughout Monday’s game.

Hauser’s 3-point eruption led to a 23-point quarter, the most that any Celtic has scored in a frame this season. He became just the fourth Celtic in the play-by-play era to score at least that many points in a quarter, joining teammates Tatum and Jaylen Brown, along with Isaiah Thomas.
