BOSTON — The Celtics got a first glimpse of the Torrey Craig experience on Wednesday night and the midseason addition did not disappoint.

In an ideal world, Torrey Craig will bring three positive traits to the Celtics’ roster: physicality and versatility on defense, reliable 3-point shooting and veteran experience. He checked all three of those boxes Wednesday night in his Boston debut.

The Celtics had a rising defensive prospect on their roster in Jaden Springer, but elected to trade him away to the Houston Rockets to save money on their tax bill for the season, and replaced his roster spot with a shooting guard who has barely seen the court so far this season.

The Celtics will get their first look at Torrey Craig in their final game before the NBA All-Star break. The veteran wing, who signed with Boston last week, was upgraded from questionable to available ahead of Wednesday night’s matchup with the San Antonio Spurs at TD Garden.
