The Yankees knew what they were doing when they packaged a major trade with the San Diego Padres for Juan Soto last offseason. They sacrificed a significant haul, headlined by star pitcher Michael King,

King was one of the players the Yankees shipped to San Diego last winter in the seven-player blockbuster trade for superstar slugger Juan Soto. This is the first report of the offseason that King could be available for a trade. In 33 starts for San Diego, King put up a 2.95 ERA over 173.2 innings pitched.
