Ruben Amorim has declared that he would rather put his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital on the bench than players such as Marcus Rashford who are not giving the “maximum”.

Ruben Amorim has given a forthright and damning evaluation of why Marcus Rashford has not featured for Manchester United since December. The comments came after Rashford was once again not involved in the squad as Manchester United won 1-0 at Fulham on Sunday.

Ruben Amorim has said he would rather play his 63-year-old goalkeeper coach Jorge Vital in his Manchester United team than Marcus Rashford unless the out-of-favour forward starts to "give the maximum every day in training and in life.
