Murders have doubled in Minneapolis since 2020, and yet city Democrats are worried about finding more bureaucrats to babysit their police department.

The Minneapolis Police Department welcomed its largest group of new hires in five years on Tuesday. "I chose Minneapolis because I believe that Minneapolis is a community that needs officers that help regain that community trust, so, here I am," one recruit said.

With only two weeks left in the Biden administration, officials hurried to finalize a plan in the city where George Floyd was murdered.

Just a day after the Minneapolis Police Department agreed to a federal consent decree to remedy some of the problems from its past, it is looking toward the future.

The ceremony took place one day after the city and U.S. Department of Justice reached an agreement on a consent decree.
