Joe Mazzulla let the Celtics' final possession play out in real time despite having an extra timeout to utilize.

The Celtics had a chance to salvage Wednesday's game, however. After Jalen Brunson made two free throws with 12.1 seconds left, they had a crack at a game-winning shot. They elected not to take a timeout, however, and Jayson Tatum lost the ball to Mikal Bridges just before time ran out.

Trailing 91-90 with 13 seconds remaining, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla opted not to call his final timeout. Boston's final possession ended on a Jayson Tatum turnover. Many Celtics fans are baffled by Mazzulla's decision not to call a timeout and draw up a game-winning play. Several of them believe this late-game decision should get him fired.
