The Mississippi town of Clarksdale is, in many ways, the heart and soul of the movie Sinners. But, until this week, its residents had no way to benefit from the film’s massive success at the box office.

Community member Tyler Yarbrough, who helped arrange the screening, had written an open letter to film director Ryan Coogler, star Micheal B. Jordan and the rest of the "Sinners" to visit Clarksdale and collaborate on a public screening. The petition received nearly 6,000 signatures.
