A British man appeared in court on Friday charged with causing grievous bodily harm after a car ploughed into a crowd of Liverpool fans during this week's victory parade.

A 53-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder, reckless driving and being unfit to operate a vehicle after ramming into a crowd in Liverpool.

Paul Desmond Sanders Doyle, from the West Derby area of the city, has been charged in relation to the incident. He has been reported as a married father of three and a business owner. According to The Independent, he works in cyber security. Doyle and his wife have been married for 20 years.
