The judge is weighing whether the mistakenly deported man who was returned to the U.S. should remain in custody pending trial.

Kilmar Abrego Garcia on Friday formally pleaded not-guilty to federal human trafficking and conspiracy charges.

Most accusations came from co-conspirators and other witnesses. The defense argues they stand to gain in their ongoing immigration or criminal cases.
